PIXMA MP550 is an All-in-One Inkjet Printer designed for home users with superior scanning and copying and photo printing capabilities.
The PIXMA MP550 interface is superior with clearly labeled buttons, and most functions can be completed using the click wheel and the central OK button.
Print speed of Canon PIXMA MP550 is not too slow and not too fast. In our tests, it garnered 9.1 pages per minute in standard mode for text and 6ppm for color graphics. The front-loading paper tray can hold up to 300 sheets, so refills in the home office should be few and far between. The top-loading rear tray is used for photo paper.
Scan with PIXMA MP550 is quiet and fast. Our 600dpi test scan reveals a number of reasonable details, with plain-readable text and some fine image details in the scanned A4 photo. You can also scan directly to a USB port or a memory card slot installed in front.
Canon PIXMA MP550 is a reliable printer and scanner. The control system may require little effort to master, but the resulting image is detailed and vivid. The text prints without problems at a reasonable pace – it will handle common office and home tasks with ease.
